ShelterBox Presentation

ShelterBox ContentsSue Landry, our ShelterBox ambassador, gave a great presentation at our meeting today. The ShelterBox initiative was started in 2000 for the purpose of bringing aid to families caught in disaster areas.  The ShelterBoxes, containing the items in the picture, are packed in Cornwall England and deployed to strategic locations all over the world. The contents of the box can be tailored to the requirements of the destination. They are delivered to the disaster area by boat, helicopter, donkey or whatever it takes.  For example, within 8 hours of the Haiti disaster 30,000 ShelterBoxes began to arrive.  These ShelterBoxes bring hope and dignity to people in need.  What a superb initiative!
